Touring London’s most famous filming locations
Blog: I visited the filming locations of the most iconic movies in London.
By Jonas Nyenstad
Skyfall, James Bond, (2012)
Let’s begin with 007 and the British Secret Service, MI6, being blown up (at least in this photo I’m holding up in front of the building)
…And another cheeky photo of Bond emerging from Westminster Tube station.
National Gallery, Trafalgar Square.
Next stop, National Gallery to see where Bond meets Q
YES, of course I brought a cheeky photo of Bond and Q.
Harry Potter (2001)
And on for a little bit of magic.
The movie version of Platform 9 3/4, Kings Cross Station.
Fun fact: The building outside is not Kings Cross as portrayed in the movies, but a different station called St. Pancras Station. It’s a much more picturesque station so it makes sense why they wanted to use this for the movie instead of Kings Cross which is, shall we say, less impressive.
So in reality this is platform 4 and 5. The book version of Platform 9 3/4 is located next to the Harry Potter gift shop. But it’s an absolute horror show there. Muggles everywhere! I prefer the movie version.
SPIDER-MAN Far from home (2019)
Next stop on the tour is the amazing Tower Bridge.
I payed good money for this. The entrance is £12. In fairness you also get to see the engine room which I didn’t have time for. I was on a tight schedule. I only came to see where Spider-man fights Mysterio.
Kingsman (2015)
Next stop is central London and the famous tailor shop from Kingsman. Eggsy and Harry seen here having a chat.
Ted Lasso, (TV series, 2020), Richmond
Ted Lasso (the one with the moustache)
…Ah yes. The lovely Richmond. The tour wouldn’t be complete without a stop in my own neighbourhood.
Love Actually (2003)
The sun was setting on the little tour, but the final stop is from Love Actually on a small road in Notting Hill.
Earlier I made a small pitstop on Gabriel’s Warf as well.
Well, this concludes this movie tour. Thank you so much for reading along. I hope you enjoyed it because I know I did.
